Writer's Block: LiveJournal Book Club

Out of all of your favorite books, pick just one you'd recommend everyone read. As a bonus: why did you pick that one?

The Time Traveler's Wife

It has unsolicited time travel with a love story wrapped around it. It's not too mushy, or I wouldn't tolerate it, but I find it just right. The humour is good and the writing is great.

If you've never read Jurassic Park but seen the movie, read that, too.

Just surfed in from the lj writers block column
I'd really like to second this recommendation, it's one of the best reads I've had for ages. Intelligent, complex and engaging plotlines and characters you really feel for.

It will always have a place on my bookpile. But it is a two box of tissues job, I dare anyone not to be crying by the end.

I don't think I've ever cried at the end (I definitely came close a few times), but it is a really sweet/sad ending.

Jurassic Park confused me with the chaos/mathematic stuff. And all the science stuff ;_; and then I was all THIS PART WAS IN /THE LOST WORLD/ and THIS PART WAS IN /J/P/3/.

I'd watch a movie about donkeys riding unicycles on the moon.
